Not bad just took to long. Mostly because the people in front of us asked for a complete tour of the entire state. In the guys credit he was very friendly but after 6 hrs in the air we just wanted to go.
The shuttle bus took me there after leaving the airport. There was a line of rental companies, one right after the other. Some of them are connected with other companies, such as Avis. I went to Thrifty, Dollar and Enterprise. They were out of cars. The only one that had cars was Budget. For 1 day, they were going to charge me over $200.00 plus $200.00 security deposit! For 1 week, they were going to charge me over $600.00 plus $200.00 security deposit! I left there.
The rental car bus to Terminal A drops off at one spot - a location beyond the last carosal for arriving passengers. This means if you are departing, you will need to walk back about 1/4 of a mile, backtracking where the bus drove through, to take your bags to check-in. There could easily be a bus stop at the check-in location which would make the experience much better for all departing passengers. I gave feedback to the driver, and asked the driver to raise a request with management. The request fell on deaf ears, so one star rating.
I am not generally a fan of taking a bus to get a rental car but this airport makes it unusually painful and tedious. From the lack assistance and infrequent buses along with big crowds and sky high Airport fees, if you can avoid renting a car here I would skip it.
Massive up-sell here at Thrifty. I guess they gotta make a dime. Told me I had to wait a half- hour - hour for the car I had Reserved. Or I could upgrade for a hundred bucks and be on my way . Awesome
