Lagoon Car Rental - Car Rental Iceland

Lagoon car rental has been a great car rental service. They were just a bit late at the pick up in Keflavik airport, but after all we received our chosen car as programmed. We were a team composed of three friends, we did the journey of the whole Iceland in the beginning of October 2019, and the choice of a SUV 4x4 (Renault Kadjar) with full insurance was perfect. No accidents happened during the trip and with the full insurance there were definitely less things to worry about. In fact, when we dropped off the car 10 days later everything was fine. Totally worthy trip and totally worthy Lagoon Car Rental!

Would not recommend these guys at all. The car we got didn't have the breaks working fine and within 2 days of driving, the break shoes were making sounds and it was difficult to drive especially on the slippery icey roads. Also, the management was not very helpful and friendly and wanted to overcharge for everything when we went to drop off the car at the end of the trip, because we were getting late for the flight, so these guys just took advantage of that and were not helpful - seems like one of the common scenarios around here. My Iceland experience was great, but could have been much better, if I would have rented the car from some other company

DO NOT CHOOSE THE NON-REFUNDABLE OPTION!!!!! We booked a rental car for our 25th anniversary trip to Iceland for July 2020 (booked before covid came). When our flight was cancelled (& no others were available) we contacted the company in April to request a refund or credit of our $1900. At that time, we were offered a credit due to the fact that we had chosen the non-refundable option. Now (in June) they have revoked that credit because the borders in Iceland are open. The borders in Canada are closed!! We cannot even travel between provinces & have been told to stay local this summer. I've sent numerous emails & tried multiple times to speak to a manager but the phone rings & no one picks it up. I feel that given the extraneous circumstances that this is incredibly unfair since they can now re-book that car for someone else while still keeping my $. Please learn from my mistake!!!! I wish that the owners had some compassion & a sense of decency.

Amazing customer service. One of our trip members booked a car for the wrong date, the employee offered a internet hotspot on that extra day we booked because we were unable to reverse the transaction. The vehicle we had was fantastic, and so was the hotspot. Espresso machine in the front office as well, always a nice edition.

Lagoon has been fantastic to work with, we have rented from them multiple times and it is always a pleasant experience. Their prices are great, the cars are well suited to the terrain, and the staff are friendly and helpful!
