Campervan Iceland

Camper was as advertised and everything worked properly. The country is gorgeous and it was wonderful to be able to stay anywhere. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The company even mailed (for free!) our daughter's beloved stuffed penguin back to the states when it was left on the bed. That alone is five star service!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around Ring Road with our campervan. The Van: When we went for pickup, we were given a very dented van and the sliding doors did not close well, this became quiet the hassle. The tires were low on air and the oil change light came on as soon as we got out of Reykjavik. Luckily, air is free in Iceland but we had to make frequent stops to fill them back up. Plenty of space and we enjoyed having cookware and a table. The 12v plug in the front of the car would short out if you tried to plug in two chargers. Also, the ‘magnetic’ window covers were in bad shape and so we were unable to use many of them for privacy. The Customer Service: My emails to Johanna were always replied to very quickly and she was very pleasant. So I was taken back when we arrived and the customer service in the office was dreadful. The man who checked us in didn’t say a single word except for “drivers license.” He was so quiet, I asked him to speak up multiple times when we returned the van and he just continued to mumble. They provide you with no maps, no information on camp sites, did not discuss the type of roads you can’t drive on, and didn’t even say “have a good time.” There is an unattended, CCTV toll road in the north and we had no idea what to do because it was never mentioned and without signs, it’s hard to know what to do. When I asked about adding insurance, he didn’t even bother to cover any of my contract. Again, only said “driver’s license”. When we returned and mentioned the quality of the van, he informed us we could have called anytime. SERIOUSLY DUDE. HOW DID WE KNOW THAT WHEN YOU ONLY SAID TWO WORDS TO US!! My suggestion is to use another company that will give you some guidance/maps and clearly explain everything to you about the van and your trip. Other companies offer camping cards too that prevent you from having to pay at multiple sites. We received a ride back to our hotel from a really kind guy from Cyprus. We did not catch his name but he was the reason for the extra star!

Loved our Iceland experience, campervan worked out great!!

We rented a motorhome with camper van and the rental company was geysir rent a car. The personal from both companies were really nice. The emails were answered quick and during the pick up recommendations were given to us which nice tips to visit and bringing the motorhome back was easy and quick. Furthermore we got the WhatsApp number from the mechanic in case we had questions while travelling. These were answered very fast. They offered also to transfer us to the hotel in keflavik. For all of these, service wise.. Should be 5 stars. BUT! the motorhome had 2 major problems which just by luck got fixed. While checking the motorhome, we noticed that there was missing something to cover the light from one of the roof top windows. Until here just a minor issue. We asked if we could have something to cover the light coming in. While looking for solutions "luckily" It was raining and we (and with we I mean myself) noticed there were some drops coming in. They offer to repair it which would take 2-3 hours and in the meanwhile they were so kind to bring us to buy groceries and even have some dinner! Again, service great, and the water dropping from the roof got fixed. (But what would have happened if it was not raining in that moment!!?) The 2nd major problem was, that on the 2nd day, while driving, we noticed that the bumper from behind, where the car license plate is, was hanging just by some cables. Just because luckily we got some tape to fix the light problem, we could use that very strong tape to fix the bumper and keep going. If any of these 2 things could not have get fixed, or would have been discovered in a later point, would have ruined our holidays.. That is why only 2 stars despite the good customer service.

SCAM. We chose this company to rent a campervan for 18 days. We booked the campervan on their website and we took most of the equipments and the options (guarantee, wi-fi, etc...) which was expensive but campervans on the photos seemed nice. First of all, we were a bit surprised when we discovered the van as it was not at all the one presented on the photos (it is not indicated on the website that the van could differ). This could be fine but the campervan we got was in a very poor condition as you can see on the photos attached. Indeed the Volkswagen caddie has a lot of damages on the bodywork and the windscreen and the steering wheel is not properly balanced (we have to turn it slightly to the left in order to go straight forward) ... The most annoying point is that we rent the car for unlimited kilometers but we just had a message telling us that oil must be change in less than 1000km. It is absolutely not professional. We found it very disapointing and when we see the other campervan rent by rent.is (or even other companies such as Happy Camper, Kuku Camper, ...) we feel aggrieved (those vans have real beds and are brand new). Indeed, we are staying here almost 3 weeks, we thought we would have at least a good mattress as shown on the pictures (on your website) but it is clearly not the case as the one we had is broken and not even flat. we wrote a mail to campervan Iceland for all these disagreements in order to be compensated as this is almost a scam for the price we paid but they did not proposed any compensation. Eveything shown on their website (car, bed etc) are not accurate and thus the service done is absolutely not the one we paid for. We advise you to chose another camper company to explore Iceland !
