Go Iceland Car Rental

The business is very busy. Staff are attentive, but they are not maintaining the car they rent out. The car condition is very bad! 1. After I rented car, drove out only 1 mile, the car dashboard showed a warning sign "System Fault"; I drove the car back to car rental and requested to check it out; I was told that it was the dirt that blocked car's front sensor, it shouldn't be a issue. Well, I don't believe it. During my whole rental period, the warning sign shows up a few minutes I starts the car. 2. The wiper doesn't work well. I drove the car on the road, the started raining, the wiper is running but can't clean the windshield well. Iceland rains a lot, and the wiper is not doing its job! 3. Bad tires. All the tire treks are bare. I noticed that the car is very hard to handle. I am driving on the ring road, the car should run smoothly. But it is not, especially when it was raining. 4. Engine Oil service hasn't kept up. On top of the "System Fault" warning sign, I constantly got "Engine Oi Service now" sign. How can such a car being put on to the service? This is very irresponsible. If you rent a car from this car rental, before you go out the door, you need to check tires condition, wipers, lights, in case you get trouble on the road.

eventually worked things out with the company and feel better about the experience. Do pay close attention to condition of the car when you pick up. Take pictures of everything and really note anything that is less than perfect so you don't get charged for it when you return

We were very hesitant to rent a car from Go Iceland rental due to the previous reviews however, they were offering the BEST price and no other car rentals had available cars, so we decided to give it a shot. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we received good service. We had a driver pick us up and were out with our new Hyundai 4x4 in less then 15 minutes. The guy who helped us behind the counter was very quick, nice, didn’t try to offer us insurance( like many ppl said in reviews), and wished us a safe trip. The car was perfect and took us through rivers, etc. Our return took few minutes as well. The guy looked at the car briefly and wished us a safe flight! Would definitely recommend and will hopefully return! Iceland is gorgeous!!

Easy going and very laid back approach with good vehicles at an affordable pice, we enjoyed the car for 8 days and eventhough the navigation was a little outdated it was a super comfortable way of travelling

Sadly 0 stars are not available on google ratings. If you have any other options don't book with this company. They are known for finding apparently new "damages" and charging ridicolous amounts. Apart from that we had problems with our airport shuttle, wrong numbers sent to us via email and employees who couldn't care less and are the definition of unfriendliness. If you have to book with them cause nothing else is available you should probably pay for their overpriced insurance to not get scammed.
