Do NOT take your car to East Coast Suspension if you at all care about it. In short - terrible service, with damage to my vehicle and zero care by owners to address concerns by owner After multiple recommendations, i decided to take my 1981 Range Rover to David hoping that he would care for my car as if it was his. I asked for a complete fluid replacement (oil, transmission, diffs, brakes & coolant) as well as petrol drained + new spark plugs. I also requested a suspension review. I booked two weeks in advance. 48 hours later after dropping off the car - i still heard nothing. After calling twice i got told that "i am too busy to talk just come in when you're ready". As an essential worker, i had to take a day off to just find out whats going on with my car. Upon arriving, i was told that all fluids were changed and that the spark plugs did not need to be changed. The petrol had not been drained. The car still ran rough which David indicated was due to the carburetor. He then indicated he did not have time to perform the carburetor clean. I, therefore, asked for the petrol to be drained - as originally agreed and i would return in 2 hours to pick it up. After picking up the car, on the drive home, a LOW oil light came on. I texted David, and returned the car. He informed me that this was due to the car being "old" and that low oil would come on when it's at low revs and would go away at higher revs (which it did). He indicated this is normal. I went home and did my own review. I realized that the correct oil should be 20w50 and not the 10w40 that dave had put in. It also required non-synthetic oil (synthetic oil would ruin the gearbox) however of course synthetic oil was used. I informed him of this - and he agreed he would therefore change the oil for me. At the same time, i asked David if he would swap out the springs for me. He agreed and said it won't take more than 1 hour. Upon arriving, not only did i have my springs put in but a fresh new dent in my driver's door with photographs before and after clearly showing it was new. I took the car to another mechanic who informed me the carburetors were perfectly fine and the spark plugs were absolutely the issue. I was very happy to see that after changing the spark plugs my car drove perfectly. I attempted to discuss this with David - I sent him a text message with my card details and a list of my concerns. I informed him that IF he felt it was fair/right to charge my card. He proceeded to charge my card and did not address any of the concerns. I followed with a message "You would not like to address any of the above concerns?" To which I received no reply. In summary - The wrong oil was put in which resulted in alarms in the car - The spark plugs were not changed despite being requested - another mechanic diagnosed the car running rough due to the spark plugs - The petrol wasn’t drained despite it initially being requested meaning I had to again leave and come back for the petrol to be drained - The driver's side door was dented. Do NOT take your car to East Coast Suspension if you at all care about it. All of David's invoices have been paid in FULL. I am posting this to warn others before they consider taking their valuable asset to David.
