Small video made by an family group of adventure guests staying in Koh Ker Village at Koh Ker Jungle Lodge Homestay for 2 nights in December 2019. They travelled by minibus with a guide and cook. With a drone, they did some arial shots of the village and the lodge that lies directly behind the main temple.

We arrived here after we arranged permission through Sheila at a company called hiddencambodia. We were able to stay at the homestay and spent one night here so we could explore the temple city. The house is a true Khmer wooden house and sleeping in it is a great experience and is very comfortable. The lady that was there to look after us made the most mouthwatering food and even made a fire to heat water for us so we could have a great bath later on. You will thoroughly enjoy this homestay. Taking a walk around the village you will be met by very friendly people and will see the wells donated by good samaritans - also through the help of hiddencambodia. Do yourself a favour and come here with your own motorcycle (or with a motorcycle tour group) so you can explore the temple complex at your own pace. You cannot truly experience this temple complex without sleeping here - it is surreal. 5 stars definitely.

Before you decide to stay the night there, make sure you book the place prior. It costs 20$ per person. However, the lodge targets foreigners. But with a little bit of talk you, Khmer forks, could stay there as well. The lodge is perfect for a group stay not for individual. Overall experience: I will bring my friends next time I want to stay the night in Koh Ker area.

This is the only place to stay near Koh Ker temple, which gives a wonderful opportunity to wander the ruins early morning before the tourist hordes descend as well as see a little bit of village life. The accommodation is quite basic - it is a large Khmer village house - but totally acceptable. You can buy food and drinks from restaurants near the main temple or arrange for food to be cooked for you at the lodge by the caretaker's wife. Decent food. Good value. HiddenCambodia were very efficient and helpful in arranging my stay there. All done by internet. An enjoyable and trouble free experience.

An escape from Siem Reap to a beautiful traditional house is a small rural village beside a complex of tenth century temples.
