Very clean! Bathrooms are nice. Showers very nice and clean, warm water. Only suvky thing is paying to shower, bit not to bad. Over all really enjoyed my time here!
Pretty good campground. A lot of the sites are shrouded with trees and shrubs, so there's a little bit of privacy. However, it's pretty crammed in there and it is very full with a lot of families and people who come there for the day (I counted two groups who left their campsite after eating dinner). The facilities are pretty nice as well (showers, sinks, lots of bathrooms). But you need to know that this is definitely more on the urban side of the scale when it comes to camping -- you're not really out in nature, just a small canyon with I5 and San Clemente a stone's throw away so you don't get that full feeling of solitude and peace.
While it’s far from the beach, the campsites are private and in the trees. You can hear the freeway and the adjoining road but it’s proximity to beaches is great. With your state park camping pass you can go to any state park in the area. Use San Mateo as a base camp. Bathrooms are clean and you will get use to the sounds of small arms fire from the military base next door. Rest assured, all the clean electricity you use in camp is generated by the nearby San Onofre Nuclear generating station just a mile from the campground.
Hedges between RV sites. Nice showers that are token operated.
Great place to just be with ur kids and family it's remote but not to remote. It's close to the beach if you walk or ride ur bike.. I will be going back soon
