I loved this shop for its progressive brand. However after being offered a job there the pay rate was $5-13 below the minimum retail award wage. The boss retracted the offer when I made it clear I would not work for this wage, and then offered the job to a “more qualified” person. Highly hypocritical that this business claims to be a feminist space but can’t even pay their women workers a living wage
Sad to hear you don't offer award wage! I loved how warm and inclusive your staff are around different needs, and to hear all that warmth and knowledge is underpaid makes me sad. Ill be shopping elsewhere and telling others to do the same. Unless you want to start paying workers?
We love love love visiting Max Black. Often we hit this place up before a weekend a delicious debauchery. Love the range of toys. The staff are so great.
Used to love this store and visit almost weekly, now I know they pay their staff below award rate. Disgusting, will not be visiting until this is changed and all staff are back paid what they are owed
Bad business practices. Staff are not paid a living wage.
