    The Weser island Werder can be reached on the western side via the Münsterbrücke and Inselstraße. On the eastern side, the island is accessed by a steel pedestrian bridge with a golden rat perched on it. A part of the island is park-like laid out, opposite the park is the restaurant "the island" with a small playground, cafe and beer garden. In the summer months a very nice place to relax and meet nice people. The toilet belongs to the locality and is only open when the restaurant is open. In the immediate vicinity are on a walk Weser Island, the "old Weser lock Hameln" and the "Pfortmühle" worthwhile destinations.

    Along the island road, the path then led past the shipping office and locks, to a blue pedestrian bridge, on the upper segment a golden rat as a landmark of Hameln, thront.Von here I had a panoramic view of the Weser, the island of Werder and the old town ,
