Have you ever found such great hole in the wall places that you're afraid to share it because then maybe it's too busy when you go in the future? Yeah this is one of them! The best lunch plates I've ever had. I've been a few times and each one is a new home cooked meal straight from Hawaii. Not looking for a lunch plate combo? Get an absolutely excellent Musibi or better yet some of the freshest Poke I've had. Definitely don't waste your time at some poke bowl place that loads you up with a heap ton of rice, condiments and little fish pieces when you can have excellent quality sliced chunks to enjoy right here! The location is really close to downtown San Mateo and it has its own, generally full, parking lot. Come early for lunch or you'll have to park on the street.
Our go to place for the best musubi in town! Love their lunch plates as well! Friendly staff, fast service.. they do run out so get there early. Also, great poke and edamame rice in the back part of the market.
In line 10 min before opening and at least 3 dozen guests already waiting. Easy to see why when you taste the food, DELICIOUS! I believe the food options are available only Friday-Sunday but I could be wrong. They really deserve 6 stars! And the cashier and bagger where probably the friendliest people you would ever meet. Great market, great food, great service. I will certainly be back, especially for post covid precautions to see if there is more to experience. But for a first time, I can't say enough about how happy I am that I stopped in. Bring your appetite and wallet. Things are reasonably priced but if you're like me then I'll take 1 of everything.
Cool place to find all them bomb snacks that you'd find in Hawaii or the fete. Prices are decent and people are polite and cashier reminds me of my papa😎
This is a small market but in reality it's to go Hawaiian food. Go there hungry and with friends. They have a bunch of different masubi that are large and generous. Grab a plate of Kahlua pork, the masubi, some sides, one of the Hawaiian drinks and maybe fresh mochi. Then walk over to the central park and enjoy your haul. I really cannot recommend this place more.
