Went for drinks at 5:00 pm. Went through check-in and then waited for the hostess to seat us. It was a hot day in the 80s. The hostess took us to a table that was in the full sun. Seriously??? I asked for a table in the shade and she acted put out but finally gave us a table in the shade This has always been a very fun place for cocktails but I think they are losing their vibe a bit.
I would give them one more star if there was one, for amazing service.we were greeted and checked on by multiple folks. Great drinks and good food in this beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view.
Beautiful outdoor patio with nice view. Did prix fix 3 course menu, food was pretty good, but meal took 2+ hours with entree taking hour plus to arrive. All tables seemed to be impacted. Staff proactively apologized for delays which was nice and said they're still sorting things out, so maybe in normal post-covid times service will be better, but wouldn't recommend dinner here from my experience in June 2021
We celebrated a special occasion at the beautiful Madera restaurant recently and were thoroughly impressed with a true luxury dining experience, from the setting to the service, food and drinks. We were seated near the window and had a fabulous view of the pool and resort grounds. We started the meal with some delicious cocktails. Every dish was a fantastic flavor-filled experience and the staff recommended great wine pairings for our selections. The service was impeccable by their friendly and attentive staff without being intrusive. We highly recommend the dining experience at Madera to all.
Our time at Madera was pleasant but not super memorable. The location is inside a large hotel/resort complex, and parking was ample but confusing when we went for a weekday lunch. Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant were lovely, and our waiter was friendly, though not very knowledgeable/enthusiastic about the food. Both my husband and I are food nerds, so we tend to ask a lot of questions about the menu out of excitement and curiosity, but we didn't sense a similar excitement from the wait staff. The food itself was delicious but not mind-blowing enough to warrant the high prices, in my opinion. Charging $40+ (not including living wage and regular tax on top) for the salmon main is a lot to ask, even if the salmon was cooked perfectly. We got two appetizers, which were my favorite parts of the meal. Burrata and almonds were so fresh, and the yuzu yellowtail was creative and flavorful. The farmer's market bowl was a tiny letdown. The veggies were fresh, but again, I didn't think the dish earned its high price, especially since some of the asparagus was quite tough. Overall, we don't regret spending our anniversary lunch there. However, we wouldn't go back and only recommend the restaurant if you're already staying at the hotel and have deep pockets.
