Picture this: driving along with two kids in the car. One a 15 month old that's overdue for nap time. We have no hot water, it's Easter Friday and no coffee shops are open. Then this KFC appears around the bend and we feel like we are saved. I stood in a long line nervous about being fobbed off for asking for a bit of hot water, which I imagine is not on the menu. I get to the front and nervously ask an unfair request of a busy cashier struggling to keep up with the exceptionally long line of impatient people. Then it happened, the moment that defines a positive culture inherent in a 'can do' workplace. She smiled and stepped away from the register and helped me, took care to ensure all was as it needed to be. Her colleague stepped in and service continued unhindered by my selfish interruption. Thanks you to the unknown cashier. You are amazing and we're truly a life saver that day.
The dining establishment KFC has a rich and storied history. In the smooth 1930’s, “in a humble service station in Corbin, Kentucky”, and 40-year old Harland Sanders began feeding hungry travelers. Sanders spent the next nine years (now that's dedication) perfecting his secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, as well as the basic cooking technique they still use today. Whenever I am lucky enough to walk into one their fine dining establishments, I remember Harland Sander's legacy and wonder if the high school kids working out the back are able to meet this high bench mark. When I entered the entrance, I was meet with happy silence of people munching on fried chicken. Always a good sign. I have a seamless check in. I see nothing unsavory lurking on the floor. So far, so good. Since I had ordered before 2 minutes before walking in, I was expecting quite a wait. But, lo and behold, my meal was ready within 5 minutes. SIMPLY AMAZING! I doubt that even Ithaa Undersea or Guy Savoy would be able to offer such amazing service. I happily took my meal from a very polite employee and, having one last look around the wonderful restaurant, I exunt. Time for the test. The resturant may have passed, but will the chicken, I wonder? I take my first sniff. Hmm? I wonder. Is that the smell of the Sander's legendary 11 secret spices coming from my ZINGER BACON & CHEESE BURGER COMBO? I bite. I chew. Yes! It is indeed the heavenly taste that every KFC goer pursues and loves. I am so exited I can barely wait for the frys. I see: The yellow fried patotoe looks up to scratch. I smell. Hmmm. I taste. Mmmmmmmm. Another box ticked. Now, the drink. A solo. I smell. Hmmmmm. I taste. Mmmmmm. Tastes not quite as good as the Nowra KFC's Solo - I do believe that they make excellent Solo down there - but it is still quite good. Now, I have been to many KFC's over my life. Some are good: the chicken is beautiful and fresh... some, not so good. But my goodness, yes, KFC Bomaderry passed with flying colours. Well done indeed KFC Bomaderry. *****
The staff were more than happy to drop the f bomb when speaking to their colleagues in front of us. We had to search for a clean table even though we were the only 2 people there. Food was dried out and cold.
Used drive- in, did not enter premises for this review. This KFC has fast service. I CNN ordered a zinger burger, chips and popcorn chicken, good value for money and friendly staff.
Fresh and hot. Very good service. Only reason not giving it 5 stars is because we had the original pieces but the coating didn't seem as tasty as normal. Maybe missing a few of the secret herbs and spices. Otherwise it was delicious thanks.
