There's so much warmth and care from Ursina, the hotel owner and her team. Not just for me as a single guest, but clearly also for guests with children (like the whole Braunwald village). It's cozy, uncomplicated, and they have a lovely recently completely rebuilt playground, fit for both sunny and less sunny weather. I love being here. It's right next to the cable cars that take you to Grotzenbuehl, and the Ski School. And only minutes away are the cable cars that take you to the magnificent Gumen area, almost 2000 meter above sea level. This is a place you don't go to for luxury, but for an affordable, comfortable bed and well cooked local dishes.
basic food and drinks, but busy and friendly. A great place to stop with kids for hot chocolate after ski school. The outside deck is nice on a sunny day. Tip: use the inside exit to get to the main gondola. The back/side entrance was tricky for kids at the start of the season when it icy.
A casual place to stay before hiking
Ein schönes Hotel um in Braunwald ein paar tolle Tage zu erleben. Auch wenn die Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen sind, die Chefin ist sehr nett und das Essen sehr gut.
Have had a big stone. Very good meat quality, fine sauces and very friendly service and everything at a good price-performance ratio. Always worth a visit. Pre-order necessary.
