My sons love the Shipman swim school so much. They especially like their teachers and the outdoor pool. They progressed fast and look forward to their swim lessons every week.
My son hated swim lessons before starting at Shipman Swim School. He now looks forward to his lessons. The instructors are fabulous and really care about the kids that they teach. Each lesson is structured so the kids get to learn different swimming strokes and then get play time with rings at the end, which my son really enjoyed. We highly recommend Shipman Swim School!
Our daughter has been receiving lessons at Shipman Swim School for the past three years. She started when she was 3 years old and was not comfortable in the water when she started. We had tried another swim school prior to Shipman and did not have much success getting her comfortable in the water. Once we started at Shipman, she began to progress really well. The instructors are just the right mix of assertive, patient, and comforting, and they do a great job of helping our daughter be comfortable and confident in the water. They are very goal-oriented and really want the children to learn how to swim and be safe in the water. We are excited to continue with Shipman to see how much further our daughter will progress with her swimming, as she really loves it!
My 5 year old just had his fifth lesson at this school and the progress is incredible. The teachers had really made him feel comfortable. The atmosphere is warm and supportive. By the fifth lesson he's able to swim some distance, hold his breath under water and dive down wth assistance to pick up things. Her looks forward to his classes and talks about it during the off days. We are very happy with the school and the supportive staff. In the past my son had been afraid to take swim lessons to the point of pulling him out after only one lesson from another school, now he's excited to go and I attribute it to the wonderful instructors and the atmosphere at this school.
I stumbled upon Shipman Swim School during my search for private swim lessons. Our 4-year-old son has been taking lessons from another local swim school since he was two; however, after all those time, we didn’t see any progress in his swimming skills. We tried to speak to the instructors, but you could tell that they really didn’t care as our son was one of the many students in their classes. We felt like just another number and that our time and money were going to waste when our son wasn’t at all progressing. Then we found Shipman - the school is truly a hidden gem!! We enrolled our son in private lessons and after about 3 classes - we could see his skills improved significantly. The owners, Zumer and Stacey, are very personable and were more than willing to work with us on every aspect to accommodate our busy schedule, including changes in class schedule and make-up classes. The other instructors are really great and are extremely patient with the kids. Above all, we don’t feel like a number @ Shipman and we feel that the instructors DO care about our son’s progression. Our son is a better swimmer now and we are very grateful to the Shipman Team for making that happen! We recently enrolled our two-year-old daughter in private lessons at Shipman and we have been amazed with her progression only after a few classes. We love this place and highly recommend it. We just enrolled both of our kids again for 2018. Bottom line - if you want your child to really learn how to swim well AND enjoy it at the same time, then Shipman is the place for you!
