I had my hair treated and styled with Maya. She did an amazing job. She’s so professional and sweet. I got a lot of compliments on my hair and the price was unbeatable.
THEY CALL A PERSON OF COLOR A TEXTURED STYLE THEY LIMIT AFRICAN AMERICANS AND HAVE NOTHING FOR YOU
My first impression of the school was amazing aside from stares/glares. However now that i finally am attending, i realize that bells and whistles were a majority of the experience. While i loved my learning leader in core (lindsey) as soon as i got onto the floor it felt like chaos. I didn’t feel welcomed, and i always feel like a bother when asking for help. When i tried applying color to practice on my doll, i was told it was a bottom priority and to work on something else. Considering i just wanted a 5 minute instruction on mixing and this is an education im paying for, i got so upset i just left. Not only is there that issue, but the masking issue as well. (Im fully vaccinated) I dont mind having to wear one because of the new delta variant, but seeing my classmates wear it improperly, or the learning leaders pull it down to shout at my whole class, i dont see reason to wear it. Most of them dont even wear the medical ones that have a filter. Ive heard its just to avoid paperwork, and if so its bogus. I have dreaded coming into school recently and i hope it changes, but until then this school is draining my will to become a hairdresser.
Students need how to learn how to cut hair, first thing on the floor. They seem confident, but always have to ask a leader, who usually has to finish the cut. They are not confident, way too slow, generally know how to take off tips only, no styles what so ever. Training for their money needs to push hard on cuts training, because customers usually give one chance, only. Then they are going elsewhere for business. Sitting in a chair 3-5 hours is way too long, after a simple color and the like. Suggestion: have Hair Style magazines on the floor for customers, and have students try and copy them, instead of being in the blind with dumb doll heads.
Had a great experience with skin care here! The students are very knowledgeable and professional.
