    View is really great, if you are in Luang Prabang you should come here. A lot of people come before sunset so they can find the right spot, so it could be little crowded. But anyway, its a good place to relax, just sit on the west side to enjoy a view of the town.

    I was there in 2019. It was easy to climb, and had a wonderful view of the Mekong river and central Luang Prabang. Not to be missed. It was sad, however, to see people selling birds in very small wood cages - so that you can "acquire merit", in the Buddist way, by setting them free on the top of Mt. Phousi. I was myself caught in a moral dilema: whether to buy one or not, as if nobody did it they would surely give up this kind of commerce, but those birds already there for sale would not be freed - and almost certainly be dead. Conclusion of the story: when I looked closely at one of them, I couldn't help but to buy and free it.

    Such a nice view from Phousi Hill. You can see both Namkhan River and Mekong river on the top. It is open early on the morning, so you can catch the sunrise there. The price for the ticket is 20.000 Kip (Jan, 2020).
