    Booked a tour for the day and the agency confirmed that we would be back at 17:30 as we had a bus to catch that evening. However, when we arrived the day of the tour it turns out that the return time was 18:30, not 17:30. The response was very unprofessionnal and they were completely unapologetic. Do not recommend.

    We went with TE through our hostel to go to Kuelap and we were underwhelmed by the tour. The place itself is beautiful and captivating in it's mystery though! And the company overall seems well run with new, comfortable minivans. However during the tour, there was a lot of waiting: in total more than 1 hour of waiting around at different stops, for no good reason (no one in the group needed 4 bathroom breaks in 2 hours), just to get to the ruins... The guide was friendly and spoke good English, but his story was quite dry and boring. We saw other groups with much more animated and enthusiastic guides. Also, he told different stories and details to the Spanish speaking part of the group vs the English part, which was a bit odd. I think he was perhaps still a bit inexperienced, because when we asked questions he was quite knowledgeable (even though he didn't seem to like us asking questions). I'd recommend asking other travellers for their experiences with other touring companies or guides.

    I would never recommend it, a 3:20 hour route was made in more than 4 hours, the man was too slow. He left us 2 blocks from the square without having told us before that it would be. Regarding your comment, it seems to me that it is totally irresponsible that you do not know the Jaén-Chachapoyas distance in km, it is 183 km, information that you should have at hand.
