Fantastic place and hosts. Nice clean room with great on suite. Comfortable bed, nice and warm and even TV. Can t fault it 10 out of 10
Mahinapua Retreat B&B was a cracking little find. Den, Susan and Boz were kind enough to collect us from the Mahinapua Hotel (where the Kiwi experience bus stops overnight) and drop us back in the morning. In the interim, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, notably the immaculate spacious room, lovely breakfast and in particular, the most warm and friendly hosts we've met not only in NZ but throughout our travels. This is a highly recommended alternative to staying at the nearby Mahinapua Hotel and it's 'fancy dress party' themed evening. An idyllic peaceful location was just what we needed following another day on the road!
A great place to stay. Fantastic hosts. Know their area and give good advice .
My sister and I (from Australia) stayed at this wonderful B and B in Feb 2019, during a road trip in New Zealand. Our hosts, Den, Susan and their dog Boz greeted us personally even though we were late arriving. The accommodation is in a building separate to their house, and was absolutely spotlessly clean and modern, but with a lovely, country charm. The surroundings were beautiful, and a highlight was their beautiful dog Boz, who delighted in playing fetch! The next morning Susan and Den served us a superb breakfast (and they were happy to make me eggs) to start our day. They were also very knowledgeable about things for us to see and do in the area. All in all, a wonderful stay at a very afforfable price, and I would highly recommend Mahinapua Retreat to other travelers. Thank you from Julie and Marianne.
