During the French ocupation of Slovenia in the napoleonic times, at the begining of the 19th century, the French soldiers were passing by here. The story goes that soldiers started to shoot at one of the local villagers, but thanks God, they failed to hurt him. To honour his escape from certain death, the villager later built this small chapel at the place of the French assault, in honour to the Three kings. The chapel, which stands near the river Selška Sora and by the main road to Železniki, is renovated and very well kept. Even more important, by the chapel is plenty of space to park cars and even buses. The reason for this is simple. Just behind the chapel in fact starts a trail that leads up to the pilgrimage Church of Mother of God of Loreto, that stands on the hill over the chapel. On this small but steep trail there is also another, very interesting chapel with the source of a healing water.😸
