    I believe that reviews have to be given fairly according to context. Kampot is a sleepy town that isn’t urbanised like Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. The 3 of us nonetheless found Kampot to be one of our favourite places and a big part of it was down to Mika’s place. Prices for a private room are one of the cheapest you can find and the place was well maintained despite the cheap prices. It had an amazing location not far from the river which is the centre of all happenings but being on the other side gives it a quaint and peaceful setting that we valued after the bustle of Phnom Penh . Drinks at the bar with a pool table was a nice touch during the night + the dragon club right next door seems to be the most happening place in all of Kampot, we were there for both nights and iirc a Friday night as well and the place was packed with locals. Drinks were dirt cheap and we had fun partying the night away at the Dragon Club. As for River Lodge, it’s a must book 1) Very cheap for private rooms 2) Clean 3) Hospitable owner, Mika 4) gorgeous river views 5) a bar and pool table to kill the boredom Mika arranged all our tours for us. Day 1- We had a driver that took us to Pepper and Salt farms in the afternoon when we arrived followed by the Kep beach and a delicious seafood dinner. Day 2- We had a full day sic Bokor National Park tour which was very insightful and fun which included a boat cruise at night which was beautiful and we met loads of cool people on the boat ride. It doesn’t seem to be highly recommended but it’s so underrated would definitely encourage tourist to stay with Mika and let him handle all the tours . You’re in good hands

    Awesome, clean rooms. Good hot (or cold!) showers. Television with cable if you're in the mood to just chill in your room. Lovely staff! Make sure you give Snoopy the puppy some belly rubs!

    Nice place, but watch your belongings very carefully! My camera got stolen from the dorm, but for sure not from the only other person I was sharing the room with. So it must have been cleabning staff or someone who just walked in. The dorm doesn't have any curtains and thus, you feel like in an aquarium as both the glass door and the huge windows are uncovered. Bed was comfy though..
