Rubi Khilnani, M.D., FACOG

I have been Dr. Khilnani's patient for over a year now. I had a high risk pregnancy so did a lot of research before choosing my ob and I am sure I could not be more satisfied. She delivered my baby about two months ago. My prenatal visits went very well. She was always so patient in listening to my questions and answering with all the details. She was also very supportive and flexible with the treatment plan. Her positive energy and attention to details assured me that I am in good hands. I had a repeat c-section which also went very well. I healed a lot sooner than expected. Her staffs specially Jackie are also very nice, responsive and helpful.

I came here first time when I was bleeding from a miscarriage and none of the OBGYN were able to fit me in their schedule . This was 4 years ago, Dr. k immediately took me and took care of my condition and saved my tubes. She was very caring and supporting during my miscarriage time. Care :She is the best OBGYN I have met so far and I have recommended her to lot of moms in san Mateo area. She deeply cares about her patients and their well being. whenever I needed immediate attention, Dr.K and Jackie her assistant were so friendly and gave me appointment during lunch times. she takes the time to address all questions and concerns and I never felt rushed during the appointment. Prenatal care: This is my second pregnancy with Dr.k . This pregnancy I started bleeding at 14 weeks and DR. K put me on bed rest for 2 weeks and I returned back to office 2 weeks with my ultrasound showing everything normal. For my first one I had short-cervix in third trimester with risk of pre term labor but Dr. K delivered my first baby girl full term at 39 weeks 1 day. Dr. K came running from a conference she was attending to deliver my daughter. She is best OBGYN who really care about her patience and experience.. I have heard from friends and relatives that most of them wait longer duration to have another kid due to the stiches but oh this mama stiches were not visible . she is like a plastic surgeon that you can't see any stiches. Insurance: I always get billed directly to Insurance and I get my co-pay or deductible from the billers. I have a high deductible plan and I felt the rate was similar or better than other OBGYN clinics in the peninsula. This year they had a change in billing providers and I got a wrong bill but when I called them I was told to ignore since they was some error and I got the right bill in an hour by email. Time: The wait time was little bit more during last year only but this year I have been in and out within an hour. Medication and Lab request : Jackie at the front desk is one of the amazing people to work with. She will send in your lab request via email or sent prescriptions to your pharmacy. Dr. K always make sure you have all the medications you need and is open upfront about the cost you will incur if insurance doesn't cover. This review is long overdue but with 2 pregnancy and 2 miscarriage care I got from Dr.K I am finally ready to write a honest review. I have been with her for 4 years and we are still hesitant to move out of this area since we will miss her. Every new place we see my husband first check google map to the location of DR. K office :) I don't have enough words to express my gratitude to Dr. Khilnani. She is is an amazing doctor and is very experienced with high risk pregnancy , immunology and fertility issues. My husband I highly recommend Dr. Khilnani if you are looking for amazing experience and looking to grow your family!

Unethical, Wrong Billing to Insurance, They can bill you even after 1year Mismanagement, Unpunctual, Carelessness Unpunctual & Carelessness at it's peak- you make an appointment and still you will not be taken in at the same time slot. I have to wait for at least an hour due to either doctor did not reach office or dr has given same time slot to many people and she isn't able to manage all at same time slot. This happened throughout my pregnancy. In fact she was late on the due date and time. Nurse in the hospital reached out to dr over the phone call and despite of that dr was 2 and half hoour late. This was totally unacceptable. Very wrong attitude when dr was aware that I am in labour pair for >12hr then how could you not ready to reach to the patient on time when the nurse shared every sequential steps of delivery. Billing Issue: Dr kept billing for Urine test multiple time when I had no test done with her. Upon raising question dr mentioned it's just few $. My question was not about few $, it was more about bill to the patient or Insurance with only the test you have done. This is unethical way of earning money. There are many people in US who do not go in detail of breakdown of billings and I was one of those person. After encountering such issue with this dr I needed to make sure by calling Insurance that she isn't billing for wrong things.  I came to know from insurance that for same visit she would charge OB-gyn and also as physician visit. I have not seen any doctor in US who does like that.  Very unethical practice. Lact of Trust &Care: throughout the pregnancy she kept wondering that I may not have delivery with her that's why she was not even sharing me report...saying every time dear come next time and we will give you report. Carelessness is when she doesn't help me with the when I have symptoms of pain at different body parts and she kept saying this is normal.  No patient would like to hear that this is normal.

Dr. Khilnani is an amazing doctor to have! My wife was diagnosed with short-cervix in her second trimester and was termed high risk pregnancy with high likelihood to have pre term labor. Today we are full term and 39 weeks pregnant and full-term thanks to Dr. Khilnani management and support. Dr. Khilnani is not only great at her job, she is very patient to address any question or concerns and is always there in-person for our regular visits. She treats every patient and every visit with equal importance, which is a testament to the care she shows for everyone. My wife and I would recommend Dr. Khilnani to everyone. We are very lucky to have found her and through our experience in the last nine months she has become more a friend and great moral support for my wife and I!!

Great doctors are difficult to find, hard to leave and impossible to forget…. It’s taken me a few years and a whole lot of letting go of ‘bad-experiences-with-doctors’ to find Dr Rubi Khilnani. Dr Khilnani is exactly the amazing doctor I thought was impossible to find. From “simple” blood draws and in-office visits, to the oh-so-elusive surgery, Dr K is the friend, philosopher, guide and last but not least the fantastic surgeon I need. By the way, Dr K gives the most beautiful skin incisions— you can’t even see them! I have at times watched her perform miracles to say the very least. I would highly recommend Dr Khilnani and her team. Rest assured, when they say “we are here to help” they unequivocally mean it! :)
