I went to Jen Andersen after finding her on Instagram. Saw her work and decided to go to her to get my hair done. I will include previous hair, what I wanted, and what I ended up with, and work she had done previously. She quoted me 280 through text and when I went into the salon she said it would be more around 400. Despite the immense increase I agreed so long as she could get it done in one session and it would be how I wanted it. What I left with was highlights and looks like I have gray hair. I was clear about everything I wanted and was excited since it was my first time getting my hair done in a salon. I left disappointed and asked for a refund and since I wasn’t willing to go back for a second session at no cost she just wished me the best and declined my refund. I did not want multiple sessions as bleach and curls do not go well so I declined the second session. As you can see from the photos my curls are already damaged after one session with her which is a natural consequence with bleach but they were over processed and left on too long, this is what they looked like after years of straightening every day in high school. I think she should stick to straight hair and decline curly haired clients.
Casual and comfortable instead of bougie. Jasmine was fantastic! She listened to the information I provided and was responsive to my concerns. It was a pleasant experience as I watched others (regulars) come and go with a smile.
Trish, the owner, was the best! My highlights and cut was the greatest I’ve had in many many years! I’ve lived here for 3 1/2 years and finally found a true professional hair dresser. I watched the others and can say the whole shop has professionals. A++++ is my rating!
Top notch in every way and I was totally satisfied with my hair for my granddaughter's wedding. I couldn't have been more pleased.
I would not recommend this salon. I arrived to my appointment on time but the stylist was workong on another client so I was taken about 30 minutes late. The stylist continued working on me and her other client at the same time. I needed a cut and color. She said she knew how to cut curly hair. I was hoping for rose gold highlights with a color to match my natural color. She showed me the only color she had was orange so I canshowed her a few pics of my hair when it's freshly done and we agreed to cut 3 inches and match my natural color and blonde highlights. When she was done I said wow it's short as i looked at my now shoulder length hair and she asked "do you think it's short?. When your hair was way past the middle of your back is that the question to ask? Then I mentioned how light the brown was. She asked "oh did you want darker?". I texted her that I was unhappy with my hair. The hilights look sort of Ok on one side of my head the rest is now just looking orange. Gold, blonde and I don't know what. She blamed me for her mess up and refuses to fix it. She obviously can't glue my hair back on that she butchered into an 80's mushroom shape but she could at least fix the color. She charged me way more than I am used to. I paid less in the bay area for someone who knew what they were doing. I called the owner of the salon but have not received a response.
