Went to J&D Family Diner Saturday morning around 10 am. They were packed. When I sat down I had to wait about 30 min before my order was taken. Waitress was busy sitting more people down and getting very body drinks instead of taking my order first. Food took about 15-20 min to come out. Portions are big and the food was delicious. Overall worth the wait but service could have been better. I had to ask for coffee refill several times and no one asked me how my food was and if I needed anything else. This is the reason I took away one star.
BEST SERVICE I have had in a very long time. WAYYYY BETTER THAN BLACK BEAR....BY FAR! We are from out of town coming from Oregon back to Sacramento. Stopped for breakfast before getting back on the road. Our waitress was so attentive and sweet. Didn't catch her name, but was young, dark hair and wearing a red top. Drinks kept full, never got close to low. She seemed to be 2 steps ahead of what we wanted. Really knew what she was doing. Give her a raise haha. She made us feel like she knew us and like we were her regulars. The food came out reasonably fast, but not so fast you doubt if it was freshly cooked. The food quality was high and everything tasted like home, but better. You can tell was cooked with love. Also very clean and comfortable. You must try.
The food was well worth the little wait. We did pop in on lunch rush. Best burger or chicken sandwich in town
Got stuck in Yreka because I5 was closed, got a hotel for the night, and took a walk the next morning looking for coffee, stumbled across J &D...best chicken fried steak i have ever had!!! Awesome waitress gave wonderful service! When we make it back this way, will definitely come here!
We love JD's. Breakfast is awesome, and lunch is also awesome. Lobve t. Y. here Western Burger. Tammy,Kelli are awesome and Dori Is wonderful.
