Great store if your in Joshua Tree. Store is very small and very rock climbing based. I am mostly looking for hiking gear and this time they did not have what I needed due to small selection of not rock climbing gear. Prices seem to be same as REI or slight cheaper on the gear I am familiar (not rock climbing). I have gotten several items from them in the past, and have been happy. (Hiking shoes, and hiking Boots).
Fun store! Stopped by for a gift and thought the staff was very friendly and courteous. Highly recommend this place!
Amazing customer service. Joe was very generous with his time, answered all of my (many) questions about backpacking gear, and gave lots valuable advice. The advice alone was a major value add for me. I’m so happy I stopped by Nomad instead of buying online or going to some big box store.
Terrible Customer Service! I didn't need any climbing gear this trip but always like to support the local climbing shops. I purchased a couple of shirts at over $100 to support their business. The women's size small tshirt was a little small so I returned a couple days later to swap it out for a larger size. It was the last day of our trip so I brought them a leftover 12 pack of good IPA beer. I didn't have my receipt for the shirt and the guy working there didn't want to exchange it for a larger size. The shirt was clean and unworn. I showed him the bank transaction on my phone to prove I purchased the shirt 2 days earlier. I asked to speak to the manager. He said she was on a call and unavailable. He made me stand at the counter for 40 minutes before telling me I could go and get the larger size. He kept the beer and was totally rude through the whole thing. I told him I wished I hadn't shopped at his store. He told me to have a nice day. I'll spend my money at different climbing shops in the future. These guys suck.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great selection of quality gear too!
