I have driven by this marker many, many times. 1856 is a long time ago. 164 years as a matter of fact! He had to call in the Apache Indians to help stop the cattle wrestling in those times. As I read, Dr. Marsh lived in Brentwood, Ca. And was either coming or going from town, and was killed because they were in search of $50,000 he was supposed to have with him that day. No one has claimed to have ever found that money to this day.
The site of the landmark became a truck stop, trucks and trailers parked there 24/7. The surroundings are covered in litter, empty beer bottles, discarded clothing, rags, truck parts, remodeling debris. Some truck companies use this "lot" as their maintenance yard, possibly disposing of oil, oily rags and other harmful substances at the site.
Visited With C,E,Sandrs,,,344 and visited with Sanders more than once what a beautiful day it is today will retire soon as 11:42 p.m. Wednesday night McAfee Stadium amen thank you Lord for another day allowing me to deal with things that I'm going through are the pinion that your will be done thank God Amen
