The best yoga school on the Northern Beaches. Establised in the 80's, this school is everything a yoga school should be. Inclusive, welcoming and respectful of the cultural origins and heritage of yoga. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced student, whatever your age, this school caters to each individual. The teachers are professional and caring. They give intructions that are easy to understand, whilst personalising things for each student - encouraging you to improve at your speed. I feel very comfortable in the studio - it's like a little sanctuary where there's no pressure to "fit" the pose, just to help our bodies stretch and be mindful of ourselves. And this is how we grow to be the best students of yoga. Whether in-class or online, I love that the teachers guide students with such care on poses. It's less of a "gym" experience and more re-connecting with our bodies. The warmth, encouragement and professionalism of the teachers keeps me coming back. Class fees are very reasonable given the experience and attention of teachers. I've been a student at this school for 13 years. Over the years, the teachers have helped me come into the poses with grace, not by force. Increased flexibility and better health is attained with increased mental awareness and calm. And that’s the joy of real yoga. :) Some of the teachers have decades of experience as practitioners, having learnt in India or from the original advocates of yoga in Australia, long before it became a trend. And it's with this deeper understanding that the school is guided. Their aim is to teach the full benefits of yoga - combining both the physical and mental. Classes are diverse and cover yin yoga, yoga nidra, hatha, meditation courses and more. Breathing, pranayama, yoga nidra and meditative exercises all form the holistic view of this school. With a clear communication style and attentive teachers, I find the digital classes just as informative as the face-to-face classes. I've attended meditation and yoga schools in India and Tibet, and I’ve seen how beneficial the mindful and meditative side of yoga can be. So I am so grateful that this school exists, as many new yoga studios focus only on the physical, completely missing out on the full 8 limbs of yoga. That’s why this school is so special. It's very heartening to see this deeper and full aspect of yoga being shared with such respect and positive energy from the teachers here. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn from the best, and to gain the full benefits of yoga in a calming and caring environment.

I was looking for something to inspire me into yoga world... and I found this place. I had my first class last Saturday morning and I felt very welcome by Celia. Very patience, calm and well didactic! The last 10 minutes with meditation was magic! Well recommended!
