Very nice and sweet station.
Friendly helpful staff, clean and well maintained facilities.
Picton station itself is a heritage listed building with old style signs and long, many carriaged trains passing through. Currently being renovated in keeping with its heritage listing. Public loos are available and it’s a pleasant 15 minute walk into town from here. Some lovely shops. A nice surprise.
The historic station of the historic town. My memory of this station is from almost 20 years ago. There was a flower bed arranged “Picton” characters with sandstones on the slope opposed the station house, and a small cabin was on the other side platform from the station house side. It seems that these were removed and whole station has been renovated to be a barrier-free station. It is a bit sad to see that on the Google Map as I feel “good old days” has gone. (visit and photo 10th Oct, 1998)
Staff are always friendly and helpful. They take pride in the station being kept clean and tiny.
