Great food!!
Go here for great lunch at great price
This is a cantine rather than a Restaurant or a Fastfood place. You get large portions of healthy home-food for a good price. There is no fancy stuff going on, so don't go there for a romantic meal with your spouse or family. The place is only open for lunchtime. There will be a lot of workers having their meal there but it is a unique experience and definitely worth it.
Pretty good food option. Relatively healthy in comparison to all the fast food options
So this place was cafeteria like and nothing is in English but it is easy enough to order. You just point what you want and they put in on your plate. My husband and I went for lunch and they had a soup and salad bar with your meal. My husband got fish and chips, I ordered some kind of meatballs with boiled potatoes and this was the best meal we had in Iceland. The soup was delicious! Granted, we camped and ate a lot of easy camp stove food, but this was our third plate of fish and chips (hubby loves fish and chips) and this place came out on top, he especially liked the sauce. I'm pretty sure we were the only tourists in there so we felt a bit out of place but the staff was nice. There isn't a ton of table space and we got there right before the lunch rush but the other customers were friendly and everyone just shared tables. I'm glad we went, it was reasonably priced as well. Thanks for the great experience!
