Can’t recommend this gem of a place enough! After a long day exploring, my boyfriend and I realized how late it was and were desperate for a hot meal. After a Google search of what was nearby and still open, Flak seemed like a great place to check out. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with the most well thought out vintage design details! From vintage tables and chairs, to travel books and old photos from the town, to true candlestick lighting on every table to compliment the string Edison bulbs, this place was cozy the second you entered! Every table had handpicked local wildflowers, too! The food was truly amazing- incredibly simple but packed with flavor. Light and local snacks, homemade hummus and crisp crackers, and two soup options (cauliflower red curry - vegan!- or fish soup) make up this simple but tasty menu. We both ordered the cauliflower soup and devoured it. The presentation and taste were both on point and a good size portion! Daniel, who served us and shared his story of the origins of the restaurant, was very warm and inviting and lovey to speak with. We shared childhood and travel stories and had a lovely evening conversing with Daniel and another couple who stopped in for some dinner. This is a must stop for a hot meal if you are in Patreksfjordur!
Only two meals a fish and a vegan soup. I got one of my best fish soups. Nice cracker. Excellent craft beer made by FLAK.
A very special “one dish place”. Fish or vegetarian soup with snacks 😍 it’s not only a restaurant but also a cultural hub. The soups were delicious Fish one is highly recommended ✨
The menu is very limited, but with less menu items, you should expect higher quality, and that is exactly what FLAK delivered. The soup was delicious, and the playlist was pretty good too. It seems a lot of locals go here, so the atmosphere was very sociable and busy, so if you're looking for a quiet place, this might not be the place for you.
When the menu says they have two items, they’re not kidding. But the fish soup, combined with hummus and crackers, made for a full meal. Fun, entertaining, different. Definitely worth a visit.
