Timor Leste is a relatively young nation. Believe or not, it's still somewhat trying to recover from it's war years. When traveling to the country, don't expect much from the airport. Let's say it's accommodations are far below from what international travelers might expect. The arrival area when I was there was in extreme need of rehabilitation. Customs was a breeze. I didn't have a problem getting into the country. The departing terminal is very nice, of course that's relatively. It has air conditioning. Oh, you'll get swarm by taxis drivers bidding for your business.

Very poor airport. There’s no improvement after i go and out of here for 2 years. The building too old, and so small.

Have been in and out of this airport for the past 5 years. Small improvements have been made with a small lounge, duty free and souvenir shop. Still pretty much a Third World (developing) airport. The workers are extremely helpful and friendly, and Alex is the man that keeps it all together. It’s a gateway. Nothing more.

runway dimensio and surrounding terrain limit the max capacity of aircraft. Timor Leste Government will extend & widen the runway to optimize payload
