Nice view and decent cottages for the price.
Nice cottages on the beach.. cottages amenities could be updated.. however comfortable
Beautiful beach location, literally six steps to the sea. Cottages are very pretty and well setup with basic facilities. Town of Portsmouth is quiet so this is a good place for peace and relaxation. Not a place if you're expecting nightlife or activities.
Great beach 🏖️ vacation spot
Armed robbery in our cottage! We were attacked by two men with a machete and a knife inside the hotel area in our bedroom at night. The front door of the cottage could be easily broken open. This allowed to the intruders to get simply in our cottage. They attacked us immediately with a machete. We were lucky to be able to get the weapon from the attackers in order to fight back. Otherwise they could have killed at least one of us. The security level of the hotel is low. There's no sufficient lighting at the beach, no fences to keep intruders out of the hotel area and no CCTVs. The security staff was also not very useful. We asked the hotel management for at least reimbursement for the rest of our booked trip at other islands as we had to fly back home for medical treatment. After 2 months it was still not possible to get compensation from the hotel management. To summarize: I'm happy that we got away with some injuries. I can't recommend going there as it isn't a safe place to stay.
