The Town of Haverstraw Police Department

I don't know how to explain all the other bad reviews, accept that they are upset with this fine police department for doing their job. I travel in the area every day. I see members of this police force acting professional and doing their job protecting the public. They don't just sit in their cruises eating doughnuts. They keep on patrolling the town and village, including commercial industrial complexes. I would not feel safe working sometimes late hours, without the fine police officers of the Haverstraw Police Department.

These police are the worst! I have a temporary restraining order in effect against my ex girlfriend. She violated the order and called repeatedly harassing me. I went to the police station with my 6 year old son and requested them to make an incident report so I could provide it to the court on the day I return. They told me they couldn't help. Bit I pushed and pushed and finally they made a report. As I leave the station I get more phone calls from my ex's boyfriend and he was cursing and threatening me. I recorded it on video from my wife's phone. I then turned around and went back to pd and the officer who typed the report became angry. He then proceeded to tell me that "you're using us to fight your battles" when in reality I am trying to follow the law because it states that if someone violates the order you have to report it to the police and get a report made. I told the officer "your job is to serve and protect" and he responded by saying "don't tell me how to do my job". Why do we pay taxes when the police don't want to help? They are lazy and just want to sit around and do nothing, meanwhile they get paid top dollar! What the heck is the point of having a restraining order if the police don't enforce it?! They are horrible and rude and disrespectful. What happens if my ex and her boyfriend decide they want to come to my house? Whose going to help? Not them!

Two phone calls to the police department and the lowd noise continues. First call 12:45 second call 2:34. A crowd of people drinking speaking lowd, using foul language and playing the occasional lowd music from Vehicles. This town is residential all homes are close to each other. It is now 3:41 am and nothing has been done to address the noise . Police were supposed to come out and resolve twice. At this point I Feel helpless. I refuse to call again but the crowd and the noise continues It is 4:54 now. I Wish I could feel safe asking them on my own to reduce the noise but I do not. As much as I respect the men and ladies in blue for the difficult job and putting themselves in danger..... I am not impressed with Haverstraw Police. Nothing has been resolved it is now 5:08 they are still outside! All night long drinking and mouthing off. I hesitated posting this negative review and attempted to fall asleep unsuccessfully so I had to update the latest time.

Great town and awesome police officers! Keep up the good work!
