An important site proclaiming the architectural beauty of the dragon Nation. Do not miss this place if you're in Bhutan ❗

Nice place with historic value. Visited january 2020. Experience was good. However, I personally felt that the entry price are much high compared to what the place has to offer!

A quaint Himalayan city at 5,000 meters above sea level, Punakha can definitely be one of the best destinations in Bhutan to visit in summer. Thanks to its towering height, this beautiful city is characterized by a mild climate and a pleasant atmosphere. The myriad offerings of Punakha, once the capital of Bhutan, also line up the hotspot for visitors who want to visit Bhutan in the winter; consider Punakha Dzong as one of the main attractions. It is located in this picturesque city where you can take a heartwarming look at Bhutan’s renowned terrace farming culture. Come summer, the whole region gets abundant rainfall, which in turn makes the region more productive, and the locals can be seen throughout the season for farming practices.

Punakha itself is a pictures place and the Punakha Dzong act as a garnishing over the cake. Enter fee for adults is Rs 300 and for the student Rs 150 but one has to produce a student indent card. The temple where the king's wedding take place is incredible.
