    The place is nice, rooms are clean and comfortable. Feels like your second home.

    Nice place. The building is like an old structure but it is not. Only the design of the building is old. There is a pool and a restaurant. They also sell here the famous Laoag Longanisa. You can purchase it here instead of going to the market to buy. Staff are friendly and rooms are spacious.

    My wife and I checked in as part of our honeymoon vacation to the North. The doorknob of the room given to us is dilapidated already due to wear and tear. We informed the front desk, then the manager insisted on charging us when the doorknob broke upon checkout (Clearly a result of their lack of preventive maintenance) The price for the broken doorknob was at Php 300. The manager accused me of destroying the doorknob and didn't want to pay up that's why I threw Php 1,000 - keep the change. That is how we were treated by this establishment. That is the most unprofessional thing I've ever experienced with a hotel. Fathom that if you ever consider checking in at this GRAND OCTAGON HOTEL in LAOAG.

    Cozy place but needs more effort maintenence-wise. We went for an afternoon swim in their pool and we noticed right away the water was a bit muddy in appearance. There were leaves on the bottom of the pool and some algae were growing between the pool tiles. Toilet was mosquito infested and quite smelly, no proper door lock. Benches were and tables were dirty with some moss growing out of them. It's a shame really since this would be a very nice getaway/events place if only it were maintained more studiously.
