We stayed in this 4-star hotel for a week and I would say that this was one of the best vacations we ever had. Mostly because of the chill and positive atmosphere, the simplicity and the calmness this place brought to us, and the fact that the staff was always helpful and trying to make your stay easy and comfortable. Thank you, guys! Our room was very spacious, with even more spacious terrace and with stunning ocean view. Bathroom was also a big one, two sinks and hot water all the time. The room was cleaned up every day + 2 glass bottles with complimentary water. I loved that the hotel use glass instead of plastic in everything and they are aware of keeping the environment (no napkins as well). Honestly the pillows weren’t very comfortable to both of us, but the king size bed was OK. Food - the breakfast was killing it! Variety of local fruits, nuts, salads, eggs, meat, etc. The pancakes with maple syrup are a must as well as the ice tea. For lunch and dinner we had a different experience - waiting for food more than expected and the food is in most cases fried. Overall, it was OK, they just need to improve the service and work faster because guests are expecting excellence in everything. Thematic nights with live music are awesome! Cocktails - try those with the Takamaka rum! Location and beaches - you can go to the beach Anse Forbans which is right in front of the hotel. It’s a nice and calm beach, separated by a large granite borders into three smaller sections. Or you can rent a car and visit the beaches around. Rent a car - they offer a list with cars you can choose from. The prices vary depending on the car, but start from 65 euro. For more than 1 day, you have a small discount (60 euro instead of 65 euro, for example). I give 4 stars and not 5, because of the weekends - when the hotel is open for outside people and it becomes really crowded, absolutely noisy and the service even slower than the rest of the days. Kids birthdays make it even worse. Forget about relax and peaceful sleeping next to the pool - yelling is 100% confirmed.
Highlight of our trip to the Seychelles. Agree with all positive reviews here - good food, good vibes, good beach even as most others in Mahé are too rough - you could still swim and snorkel in this one. Rooms are great and service is wonderful. Staff makes you feel at home. Cannot recommend it enough.
The hotel has amazing location, ocean front rooms, great pool and beach area, good bar and restaurant and an excellent service from a very friendly staff. Not to forget exceptional cleanliness. I loved my stay there.
Staff are tremendous, and eager to help. The entire hotel looks like a rundown school dormitory. There is room for improvement. The entertainment option, which was only made up of the Creole Singers was a disaster. And even worse since it was only once a week and on Sunday afternoons. Essentially, one didn't need to be at the hotel since all beaches in the Seychelles are public. It was therefore difficult to appreciate what made Double Tree different. The highlight of the hotel to me was the bathroom. It was gorgeous. The jacuzzi didn't work. It took forever to fill up and by the time it was full the water was cold. This may all be the impact of the ongoing pandemic so it will be good to experience the Seychelles again once Covid-19 has been brought under control.
Wonderful ocean view, very friendly staff, great food and super comfortable bed. Recommended.
