The university library has five hardcover encyclopedias. Most are from the 1990s, but one is from 1985. Due to limited resources, students must sign up for permission to access the encyclopedias. Everyone on campus uses the encyclopedias to complete assignments. Use of the encyclopedias gets competitive and fierce. The 1985 set is missing a few books. There is a rumor that the university might get internet in the near future. Despite what some people have been saying, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow is a real person. He is the current President of Turkmenistan. He visited the campus back in 2011. Students are excited to hear Berdimuhamedow may pay a visit in 2021 to mark the 10th anniversary of his initial visit. His infrequent visitation is due to his timidity in answering historical questions regarding the country of Turkmenistan. Contrary to popular belief, he is not a paid actor. Of the 25,000 universities worldwide, TSU is ranked 10, 443. Its ranking has improved considerably from five years ago when it was ranked at 22, 512. TSU boasts one of the best women's water polo teams in all of Turkmenistan, placing 4th in the national competition.
