    The ascent from Elm is long and on top of the pass it is sensationally beautiful. For emergency or for just overnight there would be an emergency shelter. On the descent in the direction of Panix, however, from Alp Mér it becomes only a normal forest trail and until Panix it lasts forever, therefore ideal with normal, softer hiking boots.
