    Not much to do for tourists or kids.. just to see how these rocks full of iron can change the magnetic field in small range.. very small ramge. Your compass will miss the north if you put it on that rock. The basalt rock came from under the ground with the lava full of iron not like the lime or chalk or flint stones which was formed from the bones of the fishes and other creatures.

    The compass is supposed to go crazy With a smartphone it did not work so well.
