This is a truly special experience. Thank you Kelcina for hosting us and making us feel a bit part of your family and your beautiful island.

Barbuda is one of the best hidden gems of the Caribbean and Barbuda Cottages is the most wonderful thing about Barbuda. Kelcina, Oliver, Chris and Ali and their team made this one of the best places to stay in all of Antigua and Barbuda. They made us feel as this was a home away from home - they really are a wonderful family and cannot thank them enough for such a great getaway particularly at the end of such a troublesome year. After lots of last minute back and forth due to COVID restrictions etc, we managed to get 3 nights here - Kelcina definitely bent over backwards trying to accommodate us! And once we arrived, we were not disappointed. For a quiet, peaceful, no frills relaxing break, this is your place. The Cottages have everything you need including drinking water from a tap. Please note there is no air conditioning but there are overhead fans and while we were there, we had a beautifully cooling breeze at night so didn't really need air conditioning. Another item to note are the sand-flies on the beach - thanks to the breeze, we were lucky to escape the worst of them. The beach is pristine and hardly anyone on it - it isn't the longest stretch of beach but a short 20-30 min walk away is Princess Diana Beach which has to be the best beach I have ever been too. There was not a single soul on the beach for 5-6 km apart from the staff at Nobu (yes! there is a Nobu on the beach!), a beach shack offering drinks and then at the Barbuda Ocean Club (and their guests - but this was right at the other end). Whilst walking along we even saw a ray of some sort swimming along parallel to the beach about 4-5 metres in. It was paradise! The food at Barbuda Cottages is superb too - the catch of the day at dinner and their pulled pork mac and cheese were both UNBELIVEABLLY good! If you are going to Antigua and Barbuda, this is the one MUST-DO that I would recommend - it will not disappoint.
