Iconic Lyceum of the city of Cumaná since it is located in the heart of the historic center of Cumanes in its times it was one of the best educational establishments in the city and exalted the power of studying in such a majestic high school ... It has deteriorated and its majestic structure is no longer the same as in the past. It is still active as a pilot school and has a mini theater that still works and is loaned to other institutions.

The Liceo Antonio José de Sucre, Cultural Vanguard of the Venezuelan East, has its roots in the former National College of Cumaná, created by Presidential Decree, on February 28, 1834 and signed by General José Antonio Páez, Constitutional President of the Republic of Venezuela for the moment.
