" While I Live, I'll Grow" was the motto used by Anthony Hordern on the Original Sign for the Original Tree, which grew on the corner of the Hume Highway and what is now Donalds Range Road.
After the original tree was poisoned, many years ago, local residents successfully petitioned Council to plant another - now located on the opposite side of the Highway, which was renamed Remembrance Drive, on the corner of Mt Hercules Rd.
Local residents continue to safeguard the young tree from vandalism, in the hope that it will become as big a local Landmark as the Original, which in it's heyday attracted Picnickers and others wanting to sit underneath it's huge branches, whilst taking in the remarkable views.
