Beach is fine, dominated by the resort. What was not a good experience was the trek to the Pillars of Hercules. The path is poorly laid out. Please do not copy my mistake and take the path that requires scrambling over a large field of dangerous rocks. There will be some scrambling but you can lessen it. The pillars themselves are underwhelming. They probably look better from a boat.
One of the many beautiful beaches in Antigua. Definitely will return and take tour with DMV tours and services. Great and knowledgeable host.
Quiet
Nice beach, little bit stoney. A good chance you spot a turtle π’ when going snorkelling as lots of turtle weed/grass around.
This place was exactly what you want in a Caribbean beach...at least in the off season. A sting ray jump clear out of the water about 50 meters from shore. The turtles were poking their heads out of the water to catch a breath as they munched on the seagrass below. There are no currents and the bouyancy makes it impossible to sink, so the kids can snorkel and frolic freely. There is a small shipwreck. I snorkeled out with an eight-year-old who is afraid of EVERYTHING, including the shipwreck! We only had full face snorkel mask, no fins. It was off-season, so I was alone on the small beach, Freeman Beach, which had really good shaded area, but bring a sitting towel or beach chair. There are a couple of hotels and one defunct hotel with abandoned bungalows on the beach. You can climb a small hill and get a great panorama view. All-in-all, this is a nice little place.
