This was an unexpected surprise! We traveled all throughout Iceland and this was the best seafood we had in our whole trip! The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful. This is a short detour off of route 1 that you will not want to miss.
The folks at Gamla Kaupfélagið catered our wedding a few days ago. Fantastic food, great service, great cocktails at the bar, super helpful and flexible. We had a great day and many guests complimented us on the food. Can't recommend them highly enough!
The food was excellent! My wife and I both had the 3 course meal. Lobster soup, Lamb and sorbet for her and I had the lobster soup, cod and volcano cake. I can say without a doubt that it was the best lobster soup/ bisque I have ever had. The whole meal was fantastic! We highly recommend this place.
Very good Icelandic food and warmful atmosphere!
We went to this place 6 months ago on our visit to Iceland. I just finally had a chance to sit down and review the places I had been. I really enjoyed the food here. The place was cozy and the staff was friendly more so then and other place we had been to. The waitress was young and seemed to be new but she was sweet and she did a good job. I would highly recommend this place if you are staying nearby.
