    Great location for a stop on the way back from the North, or, on the way up from the South. Conveniently close to the activities in the Húsafell area. The evening meal and breakfast were superb and as a bonus they DO cater for coeliacs and serve gluten free food. The staff are great; very friendly and helpful. The are two supermarkets close and the cheapest fuel I’ve seen in Iceland in three locations nearby. Its very dark on the grounds of the hotel which makes for perfect Aurora watching and photography - lots of interesting features to include in your Aurora photos.

    The hotel was beautiful, but the room never cooled off at night. I couldn’t sleep and was sweating all night. Turned the temperature of the room down to 5 degrees Celsius and still it did nothing. It’s incredibly hard to breath because it is so humid in the room.

    We want to write a deep appreciation for the caring staffs at Hotel Hamar we encountered during our recently trip. My mom had a medical emergency at a late night which was indeed nerve wracking at the time, but the staffs' relentless support solved the problem in no time, and even the manager who wasn't on duty was remotely helping. We got to continue our trip on the following day, a once -in-a-lifetime experience, without any missing time. Thanks Hotel Hamar, and we hope to see you again! (Forgot to mention the beautiful golf course view from the room, and excellent breakfast :)

    It's quite noisy in the rooms because the walls are very thin. The room was also a bit dirty, e.g. there were stains on the sheets... I'm not very picky here but we noticed it. The service at the breakfast buffet is also very slow and unfortunately it takes them forever to re-fill. It's fun to watch the golfers though ;-) And the TV is huge!
