Lizard King Hotel & Suites

Place is not worth it. Rude staff. Find another place. Much better places for the money.

My 5 day stay was excellent NO problems at all. My room was upstairs with NO issues. I used the pool alot with other guess it was great. I rented a bike for the day, rode all the way to Manzuillo with a few stops along the way. Breakfast was really good ( traditional). Very short walk to everything (beaches. Grocery store, plent places to eat. Bars, shopping). all the workers are nice especially Clara, verry nice and pretty and Catherine. I would definitely stay here all the time and highly recommend The Lizard King

Clean, nice staff, safe if that's something that's important to you there's a locking gate after hours and a night guard. Right across from salsa brava which is one of the main bars to go to party. On the main street just before you get out of town next to the best bakery also

This review is for the restaurant, and specifically the breakfast. The so called American breakfast was eggs/bacon/bread/butter/jam/coffee/fruit. BUT the bread is the cheap supermarket kind, instead of butter we got margarine, the jam also the cheap supermarket kind, and the coffee weak. Not tasty, and definitely not worth 5000 colones.

Absolutely terrible customer service. My friend and I had booked six days with Lizard King toward the end of last year. A week before our reservation something came up and we had to cancel our stay. We informed the staff at the Lizard King that we would be unable to make it, and asked that they please cancel our reservation. We did this to give them the chance to book our room to another customer. They thanked us and informed us that a partial refund would be offered based on their ability to book the room. After the dates of our reservation had passed, the staff at the Lizard King informed us that they were successfully able to book the room for 4/6 of the nights, but that because they had not managed to book all 6/6 nights that we would not be receiving any refund. We found this to be extremely unethical as we gave them the courtesy of knowing in advance that we would not be able to make our reservation in an effort for them to find another customer, which they were able to do. As we didn't actually get the chance to stay here I cannot speak to the quality of the stay, but based on the customer service we have received and their prioritization of extra money over customer satisfaction I would not feel comfortable booking here again. Also, this is NOT a beachfront hotel as listed on some other websites - there is a busy street right in front of the hotel - the closest beach is down the street.
