We spent a month at La Selvatica Casa Grande and it was a FANTASTIC experience. The house is nestled in a beautiful quaint garden. 5 minute walk to one of the best beaches Playa Chiquita. 3 minute walk to a corner store which carriers fresh vegetables and the essentials. The house is furnished with everything you’ll need. They provide a 5 gallon dispenser with filtered water. The beds were comfortable. The house does not have a/c BUT with the provided fans and ceiling fans and cool mornings it was a comfortable stay. The outdoor patio area is very nice to read in the morning and hear birds. We were able to see a 2 sloths up close, of course howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, white-nosed coati, dart frogs and the iconic red-eyed frog(go out at night with flashlight and check the banana leaves). We saw many birds from the garden: Trogon, keel-billed toucan, collared aracari, hummingbirds, kiskadee, blue-gray tanager, and many others. Dave and Raina were super friendly and awesome hosts. Helped us find everything we needed. We were trying to come back this year but they didn’t have the dates we needed. :(

Amazing place to stay, highly recommended! Very close to beach and small grocery store. Also perfect distance from town.

Nice place to stay, the beaches are so beautiful with the jungle coming right out to them. Not overly crowded either.

Jeff, Dan, and their local manager, Daniel Duran, made this lovely, jungle apartment the highlight of our Costa Rica Adventure. The spacious Casa Grande was immaculate, beautiful, superbly appointed, and with just the right mix of amenities and charm for this lush tropical region. We couldn't be happier and unconditionally recommend this unexcelled hospitality in a heartbeat! HOT TIP: If Daniel is still the property manager when you visit, take him out for a beer and learn his backstory. You won't be sorry! His blend of European, African and Latin American charm will knock your socks off!
