Really great bar right near the beach. Tried the fried fish and hamburger, both were excellent and could tell there was a lot of care put into the dishes. Went back again because it was so good and they had a DJ playing some really sick beats which set it apart from other local bars and created the perfect vibe for a drink and dance. Staff were extremely friendly - couldn't recommend this place enough!
We had a negative and positive experience in the area around Paradise Beach Bar. On Saturday October 13, 2018 around 10:30 AM, we were robbed by 2 armed and masked men while walking on the nearby beach. The robbery occurred 200-300 meters from their property. We went to Paradise Beach Bar to ask for help. They were unable to call the police due to bad cell reception, so one person who seemed to be associated with the bar drove us to the tourist police station and provided details on the location of the robbery. The police did catch one of the robbers with my some of my belongings in his pocket, but I'm still missing my camera with a 1000 photos of my vacation in Costa Rica and a beloved necklace. Please, if anyone is able to find my belongings and is able to return them to me, I'll pay a reward. The attached photo is of me with my beloved necklace. My sincere thanks to the police who quickly recovered 80% of my belongings and the staff of Paradise Beach Bar for their empathy and kindness during this traumatic experience. The 5 stars reflect the help received at the bar. To the neighbouring owners, please help make it more difficult for thieves to terrorize tourists. Costa Rica is filled with wonderful people and these people who robbed us are not typical.
The nicest people. We ate here several times. Locally owned. Great outdoor dining adjacent to the beach.
Great night of music with a Bob Marley tribute on what would have been his 75th birthday. Food was great - the wrap was huge, tempura shrimp juicy! Good prices on drinks. The beach view would be fantastic in the day. Some more interesting events coming up; we're following on Facebook to stay informed.
The staff here were bafflingly rude. The guy there seemed annoyed as soon as we arrived and took an age to come to us. When he finally came, he told us the thing on the menu we wanted to order wasn't available - fine, we understood and looked for another option - but he immediately sighed, stormed off and didn't come back. No idea what we did to make this guy hate us so much!
