The Siaka Steven Stadium which is located in Freetown city is the largest stadium nationwide with a land area about 117584 m². As the name implies, it was named after the last President, Siaka Stevens, as it was constructed during his presidency. Siaka Stevens was the first president of the Republic of Sierra Leone. The stadium was completed in 1979 for a total capacity of about 45,000 people. It was mainly built for football and other athletes purposes. It has a lot of facilities like swimming pools, a massive car park, hostels, etc. It hosts most of the country's national events. It is a nice place to visit.
